Mr. Miguel Gauliski, from the municipality of Villa Dos Trece, Argentina, has undertaken a gradual process of converting his agroecosystem, La Arbolada, which was considered the subject of this study. The objective was to evaluate the factors that limit and those that favor the implementation of agroecology, as well as La Arbolada's contribution to the adoption of agroecological principles by other families and its contribution to the scaling up of the agroecological paradigm in the area, which defines it as a potential agroecological beacon. The research is qualitative and corresponds to a case study. The information generated was synthesized in tables and figures. The agroecosystem was characterized, and the factors that limit or favor the scaling up of the agroecological paradigm were identified. The La Arboleda agroecosystem is an agroecological beacon, representing a strategy for the scaling up of agroecology in the municipality of Villa Dos Trece and other localities, because it integrates and articulates the three components of the agroecological paradigm; the three dimensions of sustainability; it is integrated into the educational system and articulates the three substantive functions of higher education; a set of agroecological technologies and practices are implemented that adhere to ecological and agroecological principles; and the technologies and practices implemented are framed within the approaches of the agroecological paradigm, and the farmer Miguel Gauliski is committed to promoting the agroecological paradigm and embraces it as his philosophy of life.
