Abstract

In Argentina, familiar production is of great importance since these productive systems provide most of the food that is destined for internal consumption. This work was carried out in family dairy systems that are part of the organization of dairy farmers “Amanecer Organizado” (AMAO), located in the districts of Magdalena and Punta Indio (Abasto Sur Milk Basin). The objective was to compare twelve family dairy systems that are part of AMAO through their productive and socio-technical variables, emphasizing the dairy herd feeding sub-system. For this, a qualitative methodology was used. For the subsequent study of the data collected, descriptive, correlation and multivariate (panalysis were performed. The variables that had the greatest incidence in differentiating the cases were the number of milking cows, the area occupied by perennial pastures, the concentrate/liter of milk ratio, the quantity of milk milked per day and the amount of mass produced per day.
